Summary/Abstract: Jan Socha lives and works in Bienkowice close to Raciborz. He is a blacksmith in the 8th generation of the family settled in this region. He continues the Socha family blacksmith tradition together with his son Robert and brother Wilhelm who lives in the neighborhood. Jan Socha is not only a blacksmith but also a fireman and a collector of historical souvenirs (which explains his interest in the museum of blacksmithing), and also an old motorcycles buff. Jan Socha has interesting stories to tell about the beginnings of blacksmithing in Bienkowice which dates back to the 1683 when the army of Jan III Sobieski marched for the relief of Vienna.
