Summary/Abstract: The Museum “Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów” museum has 32 painted dowry chests. The study concerns selected chests discussed on the basis of the region they come from. Most of the antique chests have undergone thorough conservation. The paintings of the chests are typical for particular regions. The oldest chest origianates from 1791. The youngest dates back to 1909. In one of the discussed examples, the chest is signed with the name of Andrys Bujok.
