Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the problem of myths in the current cultural circumstances, that is, in post-modernity. It indicates the crucial issue of the attitude of the postmodern man towards tradition and its transmission. The work also concerns issues related to the exploration of a new mythology and connected with the issue concept of Joseph Campbell. Suggestions for the way of thinking about reality and traditions included in the theories of Roger Fidler, Wolfgang Welsch and Paul Virilio have been disucessed as well. Furthermore, the author undertakes an attempt to answer the following questions: can the today’s story be seen as a „song”? And whether in the technical world, virtualized and marked by pluralism of everything the final “murder of this song” has been committed in a symbolic sense?
