Summary/Abstract: Prof. Keith A. Hitchins (1931-2020) was one of the most important contributors to the historiography of Romania in the 20th and 21st centuries. One of Prof. Hitchins' important contributions was as a builder of scholarly bridges between American and Romanian academics. This paper has two aims: 1) to provide a short outline of the professional development of Prof. Hitchins as a scholar and Romanianist; and 2) to sketch out a path toward a brief introduction to his contributions to Romanian historiography by taking a close look at five of his most significant works.
