Summary/Abstract: The article presents the battle for Elbląg during the Second World War based on the orders of the commander of the 2nd Strike Army, General Colonel Ivan Fiediuniński, given in January and February 1945. The author, using the documents of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and literature of the subject, presents day by day – from January 24 to February 12, 1945 – direct preparations for the armor strike, marches for combat positions and the fighting, including artillery, tanks, self-propelled guns and engineering forces, highlighting also personal ambitions and disagreements among Soviet commanders.
