Summary/Abstract: Around 1845, Prince George Bibescu designed a new land plot division along the future Kiseleff Boulevard (former Mogoşoaia Bridge), which started to take shape only in 1864. During the Interwar Period, this land plot division became an aristocratic and green residential area, typical of the elites’ western cultural orientation during the first half of the 20th century. In 1925, the National Bank of Romania requested the permission to build a new housing complex for its employees (no. 51 989/1925); this was located in Kiseleff Road 12 and was designed by architect Petre Antonescu. Built without a permit, the NBR Housing Complex received only in 1933 a certificate of conformity that replaced the official building permission. In 2021, as a consequence of the recent fire (12 September 2020), emergency construction and restoration works were undertaken and these replaced the roofing and repaired the cornice of the “Triumf” Hotel.
