Summary/Abstract: Sobieraj examines the relationship to nature that emerges from Stanisław Brzozowski’sphilosophical works Kultura i życie (Culture and Life, 1907) and Idee (Ideas, 1910). Asa philosopher Brzozowski was extremely anthropocentric. He instrumentalised natureand had a constructivist view of it. He defined human progress in terms of technologicaldevelopment, which would allow humans forcibly to harness the elements. No awarenessor sensitivity to ecology can be found in Brzozowski’s work.
