Sobolczyk offers an archaeology of this notion,indicating earlier concepts – gothicism, camp, the “silly archive,” the work of José EstebanMuñoz – and tackles some of Halberstam’s arguments. Finally he outlines areas in Polishculture where the theory in question offers potential for a productive rereading.
