Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the tendency to treat (post)modern logovisual forms asmanifestations of crises and the collapse of culture. The text analyzes the discoursesconnected with visual and concrete poetry, in which authors indicate the integralconnection of such art with a crisis of representation, mostly understood as theexpression of a communicational culmination and disintegration of symbolic universes, which is experienced as a state of crisis. From this perspective, Karpowicz scrutinizesthe contemporary trend of “written painting” by analyzing both the discourse it inspiresand selected works, along with positioning this phenomenon in the tradition of writingabout logovisuality. Thus, Karpowicz asks what situations and mechanisms visual artistsand critics diagnose as working improperly and in crisis today, and where do they see thefields of strongest tension and places of collapse.
