“Think While Hesitating.” Dorota Wolska – Questions for the Humanities

Summary/Abstract: The paper is an attempt to characterize the epistemic attitude of Dorota Wolska, called“apophatic”. It is characterized by putting thoughts in motion, valorizing cognitiveuncertainty and vagueness. It discusses the main areas of interest of the Wroclaw culturalscientist: her studies of experience, reflection on the condition of the university andcultural studies, the concept of reflective humanities and the design of a humanitieslaboratory. Responsibility, tragic nature and research commitment were also indicated asthe problems which, according to it, constitute a challenge for cultural studies reflectionin the face of the so-called posthuman studies.
