Summary/Abstract: The article scrutinizes slogans on banners of the All-Poland Women’s Strike by usinga cognitive linguistics toolset. Tabakowska and Majewska discuss the Strike’s variousstages and the associated emotion: anger, rage, or in the final stage, the discharge ofaggression. Cognitivism allows us to find justification not only for the content of slogans– e.g. the vulgar verb that started this social protest – but also for its grammatical form.Indeed, Tabakowska and Majewska argue that the infinitive form was an expression ofwomen’s spontaneous anger, and they go on to discuss in a similar manner the Strike’shumorous, ironic slogans or those containing intertextual references.
