Summary/Abstract: The article draws attention to conscious and non-conscious usage of homonymic vocabulary items. Basing on examples found in various texts, the author shows the problems and benefits of using various types of homonyms. The conclusion of the article is an attempt to classify the texts according to those where homonyms were used consciously and other where they were adopted non-consciously.
