Summary/Abstract: Presented article reflects on the rationality of religion, treated as a form of its apology. Three main parts are distinguished in it. The nature of the apology of religion as a means of justifying religion, defending it against criticism, and demonstrating the truth as well as credibility of statements are specified in the first part. The reasons for religion, derived from rational reflection, the analysis of the existential structure of man and his various needs are also indicated. The issue of rationality, different ways of understanding it and types are dealt with in the second part, whereas he third part is concerned with the relationship between religion and rationality as well as related issues (the tension between the rational and irrational in religion, the nature of rationality in religion, the role of religious experience, rationality of religious beliefs, the role of language and the provision of the so-called “good reasons”).
