Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the related to the concept of a role of a teacher in three years of “Peda-gogical Review” in 1887, 1939, and 2016. It shows how the authors of individual articles understood the title concept and what they associated the role of a teacher with. The summary shows the similarities and differences that have appeared over the years in the analyzed area. The subject of changing the nature of the journal itself, from methodical, through professional, to scientific, was also discussed.
