Summary/Abstract: Stabat Mater hymn which is assigned after some sources to Jacopone da Todi and written in Latin in the XIII century represented through the centuries a rich and profound source of inspiration for Euterpe’s attendants among them gaining a special distinction Alessandro Scarlatti. Stabat Mater is a precious work written for treble contralto two violins cello, harpsichord that reflects a new dimension of the range of expressive resources on vocal solo singing and instrumental as well. Considered to be a trailblazer the composer conquers through fortuitous modulations, unexpected dissonances, enharmonic equalizations which sends off the melodics from traditional linearity and pleads for another means in order to perform his works all of these defining the Scarlatti’s style.
