Summary/Abstract: The present study identifies the extend to which the children who experience the temporary separation of their parents will develop emotional disorders and socio-behavioural problems compared to the children living together with their parents. ANOVA intergroup shows significant differences between the experimental group (35 subjects, 16 boys and 19 girls with ages between 9-11 years) and the control group (35 subjects, 17 boys and 18 girls with similarly ages) concerning the emotional and behavioural problems as self-control ability. T-test reveals differences between the two groups. Between the genders, the differences are statistically significant at boys at proneness to self-esteem and behavioural problems when they were assessed by teachers. Identifying this aspects, is useful developing a differentiated psycho-pedagogical intervention program to help children cope with this reality of their life.
