Summary/Abstract: Archaeological research carried out in recent years in the north-eastern part of Wallachia, both in the hills and in the lowland areas, has revealed the presence of early Neolithic communities in areas other than those known so far. The findings, which come from systematic excavations in already known sites (Coțatcu, Pietroasa Mică), surveys (Dara), surface research (Băbeni, Pruneni) or from re-evaluations of museum collections, are mainly intended to complete the map of the area of distribution of these communities, given the limited nature of the finds (consisting mainly in pottery assemblages).
