Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the history of Sǎliște women and their relationship with education, domestic economy and philantrophy. The data has been collected from ecclesiastical archives by using qualitative research techniques. The first half of the article takes up questions of women's contribution in the household economy. The second half of the article investigates the associative and philanthropic actions carried out by the women of Sǎliște during the First World War.
