INTERNATIONALS TRENDS IN INSURANCE DEVELOPMENT IN AVIATION

Summary/Abstract: Aviation insurance offers products to cover specific risks for certain operators of the aviation industry, the last ones being airlines, manufacturers, airports, service providers (food, catering, security agents and the like). The object of these insurances is loss, damage and liability. The risk covered is determined by certain important variables such as funds from capital providers, profits eAarned and any related reinsurance. Although global aviation insurance represents a modest segment in the entire world insurance industry, it has important development prospects under the influence of some fundamental factors. Within the fields of application of aviation insurance, the most promising are public liability insurance and passenger liability insurance, and due to the geographical distribution, the emphasis is very much on North America and Asia-Pacific.
