ENDINȚELE UTILIZĂRII CARDURILOR DE PLATĂ ÎN REPUBLICA MOLDOVA
TRENDS OF THE USE OF PAYMENT CARDS IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Summary/Abstract: The economic crisis represents an important dysfunction in the functioning of a country’s economy, characterized by a significant decrease in basic indicators. Starting from 2022, the economy of the Republic of Moldova was affected by a new wave of the economic crisis determined by the energy crisis, the war between Russia and Ukraine, the large flow of refugees, the high level of inflation and the drought. After an important decrease in the basic indicators in 2022, it can be considered that the second half of 2023 will constitute the beginning of the economic recovery followed in 2024. Significant external financing, the implementation of social support programs and the decrease in inflation can become contributing factors for this. This situation requires the consistent undertaking of anti-crisis measures by the country’s central authorities and the continuous promotion of structural reforms in the national economy.
