Summary/Abstract: European law and the national law of the Member States contain provisions for the legal protection of victims of crime. These sources aim to grant victims the fundamental right of access to justice. However, the application of victim rights regulations varies from one Member State to another. These differences lead to different approaches to victim support. In this context, it is necessary to standardize the methods of supporting victims of crime at the European level, as well as to improve the institutional system for their application.
