Summary/Abstract: The authors of the article, following the study of some articles regarding the geostrategic importance of the Black Sea and its extended area, added some less-considered elements of analysis, thus trying to bring more understanding to the security complex in South-Eastern Europe. In the content of the article, the authors formulate some considerations on the security risks in the Black Sea Area, now that it is in the attention of the north Atlantic Alliance and the European Union, due to the exploitable energy resources in the Black Sea and Russia's desire to expand its dominance over the area. starting a war of invasion and occupation of an independent state and thus imposing its control over the north and north-east of the Black Sea.
