Summary/Abstract: At the heart of our approach, we placed a type of « mistake » that marks the path of several characters and breaks destinies by means of unfortunate events. In Après les ténèbres et L’Impossible Pardon, two texts by Martine Delomme making one single whole, we identified elements providing at least two meanings to “this mistake”. We deal with a moral meaning and another meaning mixing fiction and reality, history and History. This is why in our analysis we are concerned with the relations existing between mistakes that were once made and the destiny of an individual, of a family or of a community. At the same time, it is important to decide on the importance of each type of mistake in the evolution of events or in the development of the characters. Eventually, we could sort mistakes into several categories: mistakes for which responsibility is taken or not taken, capital or secondary mistakes, humane or inhumane, moral or beyond morality or even criminal mistakes.
