Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the issue of loneliness, by referring to the characters in the latest book of J.-M. G. Le Clézio. The role of the scriptural act, the typology of the heroes and the idea of solitude are brought into discussion. In order to reach a conclusion, elements from the writer’s life will be reviewed, with reference to the journeys he undertook, the people he interacted or interacts with, highlighting how these experiences influence his literary creation. Finally, the short stories that are part of Avers (Paris, Gallimard, 2023) are analyzed in order to compare the feeling of loneliness of their heroes with the one found in other Leclezian texts.
