Summary/Abstract: Giving a child life parents are obliged to it for performing basic roles i.e. of being breadwinners, caregivers and teachers. Family is a natural community of love, solidarity and child’s first social environment therefore it performs one of many parental functions which needs to be mentioned. Any repeated disruptions to family functioning may create so called pathologies and then they may constitute living hazard for the family members. Examples of family life let a child draw patterns of behaviour, system of reference, configuration of social sensitivity and system of values. This is family who decides about child’s lot and education. The author includes in her article examples of children’s artistic, poetic-music works referring to the subject ‘In my family’. She points out particular role of school in helping children from families affected by pathology, social problems and disfunctioning.
