Summary/Abstract: The starting point for Budzik’s reflection is Hydrofictions: Water, Power, and Politics inIsraeli and Palestinian Literature, in which the author, Hannah Boast, focuses on aquaticnarratives as the basis for constructing Israeli-Jewish and Palestinian identities, alongwith strategies for narrating the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The article outlines additionalcontexts for Boast’s explorations, broadens the perspective on the phenomena shedescribes, and at times verifies her theses.
