Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the potential of metaphors and their use in teaching qualitative research methodology. Starting with the review of the most important achievements in the field of using metaphors as an object of knowledge and a cognitive tool, I will go on to describe the genesis of interest in metaphors in didactics. I will present the process of experimenting with the use of metaphors during methodological classes and the obtained results, both at the content level (i.e. discovering metaphors for qualitative research) and at the procedural level(i.e. reconstructing ways of working with a metaphor in class), all of which also refers to, albeit indirectly, to research. At the same time, in the article, I make a definition-related distinction between two general types of qualitative research, which emerged while working with metaphors.
