Summary/Abstract: The article contains a preliminary analysis of the new regulation on the protection of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, the substantive provisions of which entered into force on August 18, 2022. Without having the desire to constitute an exhaustive study of the substantive and procedural law issues that the new regulation will raise in practice, the study points out the main elements with an informative function and of practical utility for prosecutors, considering the role that the legislator confers on the prosecutor's offices in the judicial proceedings regarding the taking of protective measures.
