HOW SHOULD THE CHURCH RESPOND WHEN FACED WITH A TOTALITARIAN REGIME?

Summary/Abstract: Despite the advances the contemporary world has made in respect of many aspect of its life, the church still faces significant challenges posed by the totalitarian regimes. This paper aims to explore the ways in which the church should relate to a totalitarian regime. In order to do that, the functions of the state as well as the mission of the church will be taken into consideration. In the light of the main issues raised by the totalitarian regimes, there will be suggested various ways in which the church could respond.
