Summary/Abstract: The paper presents basic elements of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans established by the Sofia Declaration on the Green Agenda at the Western Balkans Summit on 10 November 2020. In addition to introductory remarks, the Paper is an overview of current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina for each of interconnected areas within the five pillars of the Green Agenda – decarbonization, circular economy, environmental pollution, sustainable agriculture and biodiversity, as well as the main activities foreseen by the European Commission's Guidelines for the Implementation of the Green Agenda. Aspiring to become a Member State of the European Union, achievement of Agenda goals is crucial for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans countries because green transition will ensure economy development, strengthen regional cooperation and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
