Summary/Abstract: A list of 172 personality adjectives was selected from the Main list of Bulgarian personality descriptors (Gerganov & Todorov, 2000). Two types of personality ratings were collected on the adjectives from the list: self-ratings (n = 269) and other ratings (n = 3 × 60). The two samples were subjected to Principal component analysis with varimax rotation. Five to eleven factor solutions were obtained from the self-rating data, and L ve to nine from the other ratings. The content of the factors from the L ve-factor solutions in both samples showed close resemblance to the so-called Big Five. The second-order factor analysis of the 11- and 9-factor solutions also led to L ve-factor solution, similar to the Big Five.
