Summary/Abstract: In this study, the author aims to highlight the features of mediation and arbitration in the Republic of Moldova, as alternative methods of dispute resolution. Extrajudicial and judicial mediation are the two fundamental components of contemporary justice, with the aim of resolving conflicts in a timely manner, in a satisfactory and economical manner. Arbitration is a relatively new and developing institution in the Republic of Moldova, specialized literature criticizing the dispersion of national arbitration regulations and recommending the redefinition of a more consolidated model of legislation in the matter, in order to ensure greater transparency of this institution.
