Summary/Abstract: ln the last less than three years, pandemics of infectious diseases have become a problem for the survival of the planet and mankind. Their pervasiveness, prevalence, and severity are the reasons to research the deepest causes. They are revealed through the analysis of various physical illnesses, social and mental diseases of society to the spiritual crisis of culture and civilization. That is why the text advocates the idea that the cause of ilness is of a spiritual nature. The biblical perspective is taken as a starting point, and special emphasis is put on the Orthodox Christian interpretation. The analysis is placed in an ethical context because morality is the center of the life of the individual and society, affecting their attitude towards the survival and development of the world. The crisis of morality manifests itself as a conflict, which has different aspects: political, economic, cultural and spiritual. Therefore, the way and means of healing and recovery should also be sought in the spiritual sphere.
