Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with confrontation of two perspectives: the Old and the New Testament in the aforementioned work. They are the starting point for a comparative analysis of two types of morality and values – the ethics of duty and law, on the one hand, and the ethics of love and mercy, on the other hand. In order to answer the basic questions we resorted to analysis of the inner sense of the literary work, which vividly portraits these opposed perceptions. Through the love story and meeting of main characters, in concrete time and space settings, the writer posed the fundamental question in two parts of The Holly Bible that build on, complement and explain each other. The essential idea is to prove, through problem explored, that the author explained the key anthropological phenomenon of searching for a lost half and union of two souls in meeting with God, thus reaching the fullness of human being.
