Summary/Abstract: The article begins with the presentation of the semantic field of definitions, as they appear in the current or specialized language in dictionaries or legislation, then continues with a brief description of the main significant moments of disability in Romania, especially the introduction of the term social inclusion in our social policies. At the same time, the main models of approaching disability are presented: the medical one considers that biological or psychological problems create difficulties for these people, the social model emphasizes the environment not adapted to their needs, while the model based on fundamental human rights promotes respect for dignity. The second part of the article includes the quantitative and qualitative analysis of a sample of articles from the online written press (Ziarul de Iaşi) from 01.01.2020 to 31.01.2022.The purpose of our research is to conduct an analysis of press articles to describe, on the one hand, how the image of people with disabilities is reflected in the local press, and, on the other hand, to highlight the role that the media plays in the social inclusion of people with disabilities.
