Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the investigation of business practices in relation to consumers and their consumer rights in Slovakia, from the point of view of ethical standards compliance. The primary research method is inquiry through a questionnaire. The results point to the fact that Slovak consumers register significant shortcomings in the area of unfair business practices and often encounter unethical business behavior. Despite the fact that in Slovakia there are several options designed to protect consumer rights against the unfair behavior of traders, they are not used to a sufficient extent by consumers.
