Summary/Abstract: Simona Modreanu approaches Cioran by two main ways. First, God, as a fundamental reference, both heartbreaking and unbearable. Then, the paradox as a natural response reflecting an ambiguous attitude which can not be grasped by normal reasoning; as a response to a mode of thinking which approaches everything and its opposite with the same energy and conviction.
