Towards Postsecular Humanities?

Summary/Abstract: The article is a review of the two-volume publication Literatura a religia – wyzwaniaepoki świeckiej [Literature and Religion – Challenges of the Secular Age, edited by ŁukaszTischner and Tomasz Garbol (vol. I) and Łukasz Tischner and Agnieszka Bielak (vol. II)(Kraków: Jagiellonian University Publishing House, 2020).The publication brings an in-depth characterization of the research field of “literature and religion,” taking into ac-count the diversity of cultural andmethodological traditions, the locality of approachesand the individual dimension of interpretation. It creates a “map of faith and unbelief”of post-war Polish literature, free of preliminary hierarchies, which is sensitive to the di-versity of aesthetic-ideological attitudes towards (Western) Christianity as the leadingtradition in the Polish culture.
