Summary/Abstract: For writing this paper, the archival material found and consulted in the archives of some cultural institutions from Sibiu and Alba counties, as well as the one from the archive of the Orthodox parish from Rășinari represented the most important source of information, the specialized bibliography, being in turn a valuable and necessary scientific source (local monographs and catalogues of old Romanian book collections belonging to cultural institutions such as museums, libraries).The inventory compiled, both for the Greek-Catholic parish and for the Orthodox one by the local priests, the analytical records made by the conservators and historians of the movable heritage, and also the specialized literature, indicate that Rășinari was the most important holder of old Romanian books among the rural settlements of Sibiu.
