Summary/Abstract: This paper will present the results of the research of Germanisms used in the language of the most widely read newspapers in the Bosnian-speaking region of Bosnian Krajina. These are the daily newspaper “Dnevni Avaz“ and the weekly local newspapers “Krajina“, “Moja Sana“ and “Reprezent“ (published in the period 2008–2016). The study was conducted on 6,730 extracted Germanisms. The process of loaning foreign words into the Bosnian language can be analyzed from different aspects. The word that is loaned becomes a model which gets replicated in the language of the recipient. The replica must be adapted to the linguistic system to which it is introduced. It adapts to different language levels. This paper will show the adjustment of Germanisms on the phonological level.
