Problems of Classification and Description of the Archival Heritage of Bonyu St. Angelov (Scientific Archive of the BAS. Fund 93)

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the main groups of documents from the personal archive of Bonyu Stoyanov Angelov, which form Fund 93 of the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The aim is to study and summarize the problems of classification and description of researcher’s archival heritage. In connection with classification the following main problems are systematized: development of a too undifferentiated classification scheme, which does not adequately represent the thematic diversity in the studies of B. St. Angelov; simultaneous application of several criteria for the systematization of materials – according to the topic, genre and their type; incorrect formulation of some titles of the sections in the classification scheme. It is pointed out that some of the data in the inventory of the Fund 93 are erroneous. A model for description of documents in Fund 93 is proposed.
