Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the functioning of the group of Jewish pimps in Lublin in the interwar period. It discusses, inter alia, the issues of pimping, pandering and procuring in the legal system of the Second Polish Republic, demographic characteristics of the Lublin pimps’ group, its motivations, forms of activity, internal structure and hierarchy, methods of acquiring prostitutes, relations between pimps and prostitutes, methods of controlling the paid love market, ethnic relations within the group and the circumstances of bringing its members to criminal responsibility. Due to, inter alia, the author believes that the image emerging from the analysis of the pre-war pimps’ circle in Lublin is characterized by a high degree of universality and, in many respects, it can also be extrapolated to other cities of interwar Poland.
