Letters of bishop Melentije of Timok and other dignitaries to Andra Nikolić, Minister of Education and Church Affairs of the Kingdom of Serbia

Summary/Abstract: In the Legacy of Andra Nikolić, which is kept in the Archive of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade, there are, among other things, letters that were sent to him while he was the Minister of Education and Church Affairs. During the processing, the letters were selected according to the topics for clarity and scientific work. The letters of Bishop Melentije of Timok stood out due to the content's value and the beauty of the writing. In his five letters, sent from the late fall of 1891 to the summer of 1906, Bishop Melentije speaks wisely and excitingly about the Kingdom of Serbia at the time. He stresses the importance of the Diocese of Timok and his role in the church and the state.
