Summary/Abstract: The constitution’s supremacy is, undoubtedly, one of the modern state’s most important values. Oftenly mentioned in public discourse or in legal jurisprudence, its content might be restricted by some, leading to its simplistic definition according to which no action or act can legitimately oppose the constitution. Nonetheless, the formation of this principle over the years involved a fluctuating journey, leading to various interpretations of the constitution’s supremacy or even to its limitation. This paper aims to recover at least part of this journey by successively analyzing the origins of the constitution’s supremacy principle, its historical evolution and, finally, the limits of the constitution’s supremacy.
