Summary/Abstract: In the patristic period in the Danubian and West Pontic space lived and carried out a Christian mission of ecumenical vocation a series of personalities such as: Saint John Cassian, Saint Dionysius Exiguus, Saint Niceta of Remesiana, John Maxentius and other “Scythian monks”. Through their labor, they gave posterity a series of works with an ecumenical content regarding the organization and spiritual life of the Christian Church in the Danubian and West-Pontic limes, especially regarding the primary monasticism in this geographical area.
