Summary/Abstract: Throughout the centuries, Romanian Countries have permanently offered moral and material support to the Antiochian Church. The great majority of the Arab Patriarchs from Antioch, but particularly Joachim the 4th Dan, Macarius the 3rd Zaim, Athanasius the 3rd Dabbas, Sylvester the Cypriot, Alexander the 3rd Tahan, Theodosius the 6th Abou Rjeile, and Ignatius the 4th Hazim, who have travelled through the Romanian space, have enjoyed a special attention on the part of the Romanian reigning princes, of the boyars, and of the hierarchs, who have hosted them, have given them material and financial helps, as well as support in the printing of both the worship and Orthodox teaching books in the Arab language. This past century, the brotherly relations between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Apostolic Church of Antioch have been developed even more by the endeavors of the enlightened Romanian and Antiochian Patriarchs, who have known how to cultivate the good understanding between people and nations. Even though, geographically speaking, they were quite distanced from each others, the Romanian priests and faithful do feel to be very close to the Arab Orthodox clergy and faithful from the Antiochian Patriarchate, while calling themselves to be children of the same heavenly Father.
