Summary/Abstract: In their day-to-day work, security and public order security officers need a quick and accurate orientation in the specific environment and on this basis – selecting and implementing effective behavioral strategies to control dangerous situations. In a democratic society, law enforcement do not have the absolute freedom to act as they like. The commonly used phrase „Objective justifies the means“ can not be applied. That is why, in a changing social climate, law enforcement officers nowadays need to develop mental and practical skills that will enable them to deal with the dangerous situations they encounter during their work without exerting excessive force on offenders and to endanger the lives of casual citizens with their actions.
