New internet technology and tourism

Summary/Abstract: We characterize current internet technologies and their application for tourism. Ways for online communication and their specifics, as well as real examples related to tourism activities are presented. We also illustrate the utility of the internet as a modern and increasingly used tool by both the tourist industry and the tourists themselves for information, advertising, communication, and purchase of services. Sociological/marketing research data related to the impact of the Internet on tourism is discussed. Provided is a brief report on using the Internet in key areas of tourism.
