The tourism resource in Bulgaria – a prerequisite for the development of the alternative forms of tourism

Summary/Abstract: Significant part of tourism resource in Bulgaria which is an essential premise for origin and development of various forms of alternative tourism was considered. It was shown that Bulgaria has significant tourism resources which contribute to development of specialized types of tourism. There were discussed: (a) natural resources as premise for the development of eco and sport tourism; (b) cultural resources (including cultural and religious monuments, objects and events; Bulgarian folklore and customs) as premise for the development of culture and other types of specialized tourism; (c) balneological resources as premise for the development of balneology and alternative medicine tourism.
