Summary/Abstract: The article follows Aaron Zeitlin’s emigration to Palestine and his return to Poland after less than one year of living in Palestine. The main goal of the article is to present an image of the idealized Land of Israel in juxtaposition to the poet’s personal experience. Therefore, the article examines the image of Eretz-Israel in Zeitlin’s poetry – before, during, and after his immigration. Another topic examined in this article is Zeitlin’s decision to return to Poland. His choice is shown in a wider historical and sociological context of leaving Palestine by immigrants in the first decades of the 20th century.
